Dry vagina

The transition causes a lot of hormone changes in women. This also happens in the mucous membranes and connective tissue around the vagina. Due to these changes, the skin of the vagina becomes thinner, drier and more sensitive. This is called vulvovaginal atrophy. Approximately 40% of women are affected by these changes after the transition and suffer from this. This change in a woman’s body causes a decrease in the elasticity of the vagina in addition, the vagina can become more sensitive to vaginal infections and can become drier. These symptoms can be experienced as annoying and painful during sex. The complaints can also cause blood loss and stress incontinence. The Femilift can help you with these complaints.

How does the treatment work?

Before the treatment you will have a consult with our cosmetic gynecologist Joke Haartsen. During this interview you indicate which complaints you have and why you want the Femilift treatment to be carried out. Of course there is also plenty of room for you to ask questions. The doctor will give you all the necessary information and advice about the treatment, so that you are completely prepared.

A Femilift treatment is a laser treatment that heats the vaginal tissue. This will cause the fibers in the skin to contract and the formation of new collagen to be stimulated. This allows for:

  1. Beter blood circulation
  2. A better stimulation of the fluid balance
  3. Strengthening the skin / vaginal wall

How does Femilift help treat a dry vagina?

The Femilift is a laser with different design pieces, so that every treatment can be performed as precisely as possible. The laser consists of 49 laser beams that ensure that new collagen is being produced. Due to the blood circulation improving and increase stimulation of the fluid balance, the vagina will feel noticeably less dry after the first treatment.

The treatment is almost painless and is therefore not performed under general anesthesia. We have noticed that most woman experience no pain ore complaints after to the treatment. The Femilift is not an operation so it allows your to continue with your daily activities immediately.

In order to achieve the best results, the treatment is performed 3 times. There is a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks between the treatments. We recommend to return once a year, to maintain the results of the treatment.

To carry out the treatment, you must purchase a Probe once. This is a tube that is placed over the laser before the treatment is carried out. This Probe is for you personally, so that the treatment can be carried out as hygienically as possible. The Probe can be purchased in the practice.
